Born March 10, 1978 in San Luis Obispo, California

 

Brian began his career in Mixed Martial Arts as a high school wrestler for Lyndonville Central School in Lyndonville NY.  Brian was a 4 year Varsity letterman as well as team Co-Captain for 2 years.  He places 2nd in the State qualifiers twice and 2nd in the county twice, the Lyndonville Tigers won 4 division titles while he was a member. 

     After joining the Army in 1996, Brian began his interest in the early UFCs and began to seek out training in the new and exciting sport of MMA.  He started learning Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Russian Sambo in 2000 where he quickley developed a dangerous ground game to attach to his wrestling skills.  Brian competed and won several grappling titles including the gold medal in the advanced division at the World Grappling Championships.  Muay Thai was the striking basis to round out his MMA resume, training under the likes of Bas Rutten.  Brian began competing in amature MMA in 2001 where he compiled an 11-1 record before turning Pro in 2003.  As a Pro Brian competed in some of the largest shows in the Mid-west and on the East Coast until an injury forced him into retirement in 2006 with a record of 5-3. 

     Upon his retirement Brian began a successful career as a trainer and coach for the NY based MMA team, Team BombSquad.  During his time as a coach, he has trained several fighters from the UFC including Jon “Bones” Jones, Mike Massenzio, Tamdan “The Barn Cat” McCrory and WEC fighter John Franchi.  Overall, Brian has trained and coached 37 professional fighters and cornered over 300 MMA fights in venues all around the country including the UFC and WEC.
